So a couple of weeks ago I got the idea to join a movie contest. The idea was to make a 40+ minute feature film during the Oscars.
I somehow managed to convince some of my friends online to join me. During the 3 hours of the Oscars you had to shoot all the footage that you wanted to use in the film. You can imagine how hard it would be to make a movie like this. None of my friends had experience with filmmaking, acting or making a good storyline. Bit ironic, right? An award show for movies made during the Oscars so you don't have to watch the Oscars.
We had a week to edit all the footage and in just 5 days I send it in. It was tough and I could not make it to 40 minutes, I came just one minute short. I even dragged the credits and added all the bloopers in. It might still be considered as a lot of other people also came short of the 40 minutes. I thought about 40 entries would come out of it but just after a week the contest was over and I was surprised to see the total. 580 entries. Never expected to see that many entries.
Because of the high number of entries, I doubt that I will win one of the awards. Though it was a lot of fun to make and would like to do something like this next year too.
